Few things in today’s marketplace are purely and truly hand made. But our felt treasures are made using the simple technique of molding the wool into a particular shape and size using bare hands, warm water and soap while constantly pressing.

Researchers believe that felt is one of the earliest textile forms. It is an important part of folk tradition that has developed into an artform. In Nepal, felting was traditionally done by the people in the Himalayan region with yak’s wool to make jackets and blankets which were warm enough to protect from the bitter cold of these areas. In recent years, their has been a revival in this technique to make fashion wear and accessories, and especially children's toys due to the tactile nature of the fabric. Each product reflects the hard work and imagination of artisans making each product unique.
